A surface light-emitting module (1A) is provided with: a light-emitting body (20) that includes an electroluminescent layer (26) for emitting excitation light; a light-diffusing part (30) for scattering the excitation light without changing the wavelength of the excitation light; and a wavelength conversion unit (40) for converting a part of the excitation light into wavelength-converted light having a wavelength that is different from that of the excitation light, and scattering the excitation light and the wavelength-converted light in the interior thereof. The wavelength conversion unit (40) is provided on the opposite side from the side where the light-emitting body (20) is positioned, as viewed from the light-diffusing part (30). The light-emitting body (20) includes a light-emitting region (A1) and a non-light-emitting region (A2), the light-diffusing part (30) and the wavelength conversion unit (40) being provided so as to straddle the boundary (B) between the light-emitting region (A1) and the non-light-emitting region (A2).
