A storage system and an exchange extension apparatus. The storage system comprises: an exchange extension apparatus (31) having at least 2N uplink extension interfaces and 2M downlink extension interfaces, both M and N being integers greater than or equal to 1; 2N control apparatuses (32) connected to the exchange extension apparatus (31) via the at least 2N uplink extension interfaces; and a storage apparatus (33) connected to the exchange extension apparatus (31) via the 2M downlink extension interfaces. The exchange extension apparatus (31) comprises: two exchange extension boards, wherein each exchange and extension board is provided with N uplink extension interfaces for connecting the control apparatus (32) and M downlink extension interfaces for connecting the storage apparatus (33), and both M and N are integers greater than or equal to 1; and a memory having two ports, which two ports are respectively connected to the two exchange extension boards. |
