A method is described for the permanent curling of eyelashes, comprising the steps of: a) providing an eyelash curling rod for the upper eyelid; b) adhering the curling rod on the upper eyelid for fixing eyelashes thereon; c) fixing each eyelash on the curling rod in a desired pattern; d) applying an undulating agent to the set of upper eyelid eyelashes which are fixed to the curling rod; e) applying a neutralizing agent to the set of upper eyelid eyelashes fixed to the curling rod; and f) removing the curling rod, cleaning and conditioning the eyelashes. The method is characterized in that it further comprises a step (g) for protecting the eyelids comprising placing a cover film on the upper eyelid, followed by the application of the neutralizing agent. Yet, the invention is further characterized in that the curling rod has an elliptical or flattened shape with a diameter D1 higher than that of a diameter D2, wherein the diameter D1 is from about 0.9 to about 1.2 times the length of the longer upper eyelid eyelash. |
