PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous paper printer capable of accurately aligning the image printing position after resumption of a printing operation and continuing the printing operation without deteriorating an image while minimizing the white area generated by pausing the printing operation.SOLUTION: A continuous paper printer that secondarily transfers, by a secondary transfer member onto continuous paper, a developer image primarily transferred onto a transfer member, and fixes the image by a fixation device comprises: printing means for printing a pause mark on continuous paper when printing on the continuous paper is paused; and separation means for separating the secondary transfer member and a pressing member included in the fixation device from the continuous paper. The continuous paper printer is provided with conveyance means that makes the continuous paper be fed backward to a prescribed position when printing is resumed after the pause; control means for controlling the re-conveyance of the continuous paper by the conveyance means when a developer image primarily transferred reaches a prescribed position; and detection means for detecting the pause mark. The control means releases the separation of the secondary transfer member and the pressing member from the continuous paper when the pause mark is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
