[Class 120(ii)] A bobbin supporting device comprises a telescopic ferrule including two relatively slidable tubular members 12 and 13, one such member 12 having means for its rotatable and universally oscillatable attachment to a creel and the other member 13 housing a catch plate 15 mounted on the first member, said catch being capable of rotation through a small arc between a position in which it is entirely shrouded by member 13 and a position in which parts 155 and 156 of the catch project beyond said member to constitute detents for engaging a bobbin 20 passed over the same, and catch being operable to select its position by the action of telescoping the ferrule, springs being provided respectively for urging the telescopic members apart and for retaining the catch in either of its positions. As shown the catch is rotatable by a resilient finger 21 which' engages notch 157 or 158 when the member is telescoped over member 12; and the means for attaching the support to the creel comprises a bolt 10 bearing a spherical member 11 from which the member 12 is suspended by a cup 14.
