摘要 A bicycle stowage mechanism (fig.1 100) configured to be mounted on a vehicle 101 comprises at least one first connector 110 in the stowage mechanism communicatively coupled to a computer (105 Fig.1) wherein the at least one first connector is mateable to a respective at least one second connector 103 associated with a bicycle 102; wherein the memory of the computer stores instructions to cause the processor to receive an indication that the at least one first connector is mated to the at least one second connector and, upon receiving the indication, initiate a bicycle stowage operation (fig.4 steps 405-415). The stowage mechanism may comprise a plurality of first and second connectors, or an articulating arm having said connectors on the arm. There may be a tray for the bicycle wheels. The connectors may only attach once the bicycle is in a folded configuration. The computer processor may determine whether the stowage operation is complete (Fig.4 step 420), and may communicate with another vehicle system to instruct permission of travel (fig 4. Step 425). The controller may determine the proximity of said connector to a vehicle component.
