An air bag system comprises: an impact sensor which detects the magnitude of an impact when a vehicle crashes; a wireless communications unit which receives acceleration information of a wearable device which an occupant wears; an inflator which generates gas; an air cushion which is inflated by the operation; and a control unit which operates the inflator on the basis of the magnitude of the vehicle impact detected by the impact sensor and the acceleration information of the wearable device received by the wireless communications unit, wherein the control unit operates the inflator to develop the air cushion when the magnitude of the vehicle impact is larger than the reference magnitude of an impact, controls the wireless communications unit to receive the acceleration measured by an acceleration sensor from the wearable device when the magnitude of the vehicle impact is equal to or less than the reference magnitude of an impact, and operates the inflator to develop the air cushion when the measured acceleration is higher than the reference acceleration. |
