An operating method of an image display device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: recognizing content using an automatic contents recognition technique; displaying a questionnaire for a personalized service when a use count of the recognized content exceeds a threshold value; receiving a user response with respect to the displayed questionnaire; and providing the personalized service based on the questionnaire which reflects the received user response. According to the present invention, it is possible to comprehend user characteristics using the questionnaire, and provide a customized service for a user.
