PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling a brushless motor capable of controlling the rotation of a rotor to which a load is externally applied without addition of a rotation sensor such as a tacho generator.SOLUTION: In a brushless motor 40, when a rotor 43 to which a load for rotating in a first direction is being externally applied is driven so as to be rotated in the first direction, rotation detection processing for detecting the rotation of the rotor 43 is performed before power feeding to a drive coil 45 is started. When a rotational speed of the rotor 43 is equal to a threshold or higher, a braking force is applied to the rotor 43. Because an output signal of a magnetic sensor element 47 for generating a position detection signal is used in the rotation detection processing in this process, there is no need for providing a position sensor such as an encoder and a rotation sensor such as a tacho generator.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
