PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxide superconducting wire which reduces a shield current and magnetization loss due to the shield current while suppressing deterioration in characteristics of the oxide superconducting wire.SOLUTION: The oxide superconducting wire comprises a belt-like substrate and an oxide superconducting layer formed on a main surface side of the substrate. The oxide superconducting layer has a main region and a low oxygen region having a lower oxygen content than the main region. The low oxygen region extends in the length direction of the wire to divide the main region in the width direction. The oxygen content of the low oxygen region may be 95% or less with respect to the oxygen content of the main region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
