PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control apparatus enabling a smooth shift from a travel with engine stopped to a travel on engine.SOLUTION: A vehicle control apparatus is for controlling a vehicle that includes: an engine; a transmission capable of speed-changing drive force input from the engine to output the resultant force; a clutch capable of interconnecting an output shaft of the engine and an input shaft of the transmission; and an input shaft rotation speed sensor for detecting an input shaft rotation speed of the transmission. Further, the control apparatus controls the vehicle so as to: disengage the clutch automatically and causes the vehicle to travel with the engine stopped, in a case where a given condition is established during a travel of the vehicle; and restart the engine and engage the clutch automatically, in a case where the input shaft rotation speed exceeds a given value during the travel with the engine stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
