PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element improved in both light extraction efficiency and color purity of a blue light emitting element, while employing a primary cavity.SOLUTION: A light emitting element 100 includes a blue light emitting layer 7b provided between a mirror electrode 3 and a half mirror electrode 9. The distance between the light emitting layer 7b and the half mirror electrode 9 is set to the distance indicating a primary cavity. In a graph where a light emission intensity is indicated as a vertical axis while a wavelength is indicated as a horizontal axis, the spectrum of outgoing light forms an arc shape where the intensity thereof gradually decreases with an increase of a wavelength and the primary differential value thereof monotonously increases in the whole region in which a wavelength is 480 nm or more and 530 nm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
