A method for reinforcing a building component comprises the step of gluing a textile (11, 12, 13) onto the surface of the building component by means of an adhesive. The invention further relates to such a reinforced building component and to the use of a textile in combination with an adhesive for reinforcing a building component, the textile being glued onto the surface of the component by means of an adhesive. The textile before the adhesive bonding has a ductility of >1.0, the adhesive in the cured state has a ductility of >1.5 and the part of a building after the adhesive bonding has a ductility of >2. The method is suitable for earthquake or seismic strengthening of brick or masonry buildings. |
