摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calibration device that enables further accurate calibration of a touch probe relative to a camera in a CMM.SOLUTION: A camera 122 is mounted so that an optical axis thereof is approximately or substantially parallel to a z-axis of a probe 110. The probe 110 and a workpiece move relatively to each other along a plane defined by orthogonal x and y axes, and optionally the z-axis and/or by rotation R about the z-axis. A calibration jig is arranged to capture an image from underneath a contact surface of the probe 110, and to transmit light, via a 180-degree prism structure, from a touch point 164 of the probe 110 to the camera 122 along the optical axis. Alternatively, two cameras may be each pointed at a location of a reference mark relative to a CMM arm and at a location of the probe when aligned with the reference mark. A calibration jig 170 may be defined as an integrated assembly comprising an optical block and a camera assembly.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
