PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying module for an ink printing apparatus by which wave formation in a recording medium is optimally avoided even when printing is paused.SOLUTION: An ink printing apparatus comprises: a printer unit for printing to a recording medium 3; and a drying module 6 arranged at an exit of the printer unit, the drying module having at least one heating saddle 7 and a drying channel 21 arranged at the heating saddle via which the recording medium is directed past the heating saddle, the drying module having negative pressure devices 15, 16, 17, 18 in a region of the heating saddle, and the negative pressure devices exerting a negative pressure on the recording medium in a direction of the heating saddle. Upon interruption of the printing operation, the negative pressure devices perform braking on the printing medium. During stop deceleration to a stopped state, the negative pressure due to the negative pressure devices is blocked at the start of the stop deceleration. The output of air exhaust means increases compared with when printing operation is performed, and a heat transfer from the heating saddle to the recording medium is interrupted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
