A heat control arrangement for a heated towel rail including a continuous cyclic 24 hour period timer and/or a timer adapted to count a continuous cyclic 7 day period. The user-operable interface is adapted to receive an input from a user for a set time representative of a user selected time to which a towel hung on the towel rail is to be heated ready for use wherein the set time is referenced against an instant timed value of the timer that is then stored in memory. A switching arrangement is in communication with the timer and the instant timed value(s) stored in memory such that the switching arrangement is adapted to turn ON a heating mechanism so as to make available the towel heated ready for use at the set time each cyclic 24 hour period and/or each day over the cyclic 7-day period.
