PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect if the positional relationship between a light source and a lighting uniform conversion optical member can efficiently use light beams.SOLUTION: There is provided a lighting unit 3a that collects light emitted from a lamp 20 to an image display element unit 10, the lighting unit 3a including: a light tunnel 6 that receives light emitted from the lamp 20 and reflects on its inner face to uniform the incident light before emitting the light; and light detection means (first light intensity sensor 25 and second light intensity sensor 26) arranged in the vicinity of the light tunnel 6 for detecting the intensity of light leaking from the light tunnel 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
