A method for manufacturing an optical film that includes a cutting step wherein a laminate (310) having a glass support body (311) and a resin layer provided on the support body is irradiated with laser light and the resin layer is cut, wherein in the cutting step, the irradiation of the laser light is carried out such that the laser light beam energy distribution has a flat shape and distance between the focal point (331) for the laser light and the receiving point (338) for the laser light on the surface of the resin layer receiving the laser light or the ratio P/V of the output P and the scanning speed V for the laser light is within a specific range. Thereby, cutting of the resin layer can be carried out smoothly without damaging the support body (311), and thus, a high quality optical film polarization plate can be manufactured efficiently. |
