Provided is an endoscopic system equipped with an endoscope for acquiring an image inside a subject to be inspected, and a processing device for carrying out image processing on the acquired image, wherein: the endoscope is equipped with an imaging element for outputting an image from inside the subject to be inspected as an electrical signal, and an optical transmitting unit for converting the electrical signal into an optical signal and transmitting the optical signal to the processing device through an optical fiber; and the processing device is equipped with an optical signal unit for receiving the optical signal transmitted by the optical transmitting unit and converting the received optical signal to an electrical signal, a curve detecting unit for detecting a curve in the optical fiber, and a control unit that controls at least one of the properties of the electrical signal outputted by the imaging element and the properties of the electrical signal outputted by the optical transmitting unit, on the basis of the detection results of the curve detecting unit. |
