PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous surface treatment agent excellent in coating property and capable of forming a coating layer having uniform surface appearance.SOLUTION: An aqueous surface treatment agent is manufactured by combining at least one aqueous film forming component selected from a group consisting of a surfactant (a) and a hydrophilic polymer (b) and a monovalent metal ion (B). The monovalent metal ion (B) may be an alkali metal ion. Percentage of the monovalent metal ion (B) is about 0.3 to 50 mmol relative to 1 g of the aqueous film forming component (A). The aqueous surface treatment agent may be an antifogging surface treatment agent containing a nonionic surfactant as an essential component.SELECTED DRAWING: None
