摘要 The invention relates to a method for improving the transportability of heavy crude oil. Proceeding from the disadvantages of the known prior art, a method is to be devised with which a viscosity-reducing agent is provided that can be produced inexpensively, can be added to the heavy crude oil with little effort, and does not lead to disadvantageous effects during the subsequent refining process into conventional gasoline. This is achieved in that a quantity of 10 to 40 wt.% of crude oil is branched off from the transported heavy crude oil in the region of a petroleum deposit and converted in situ into a water-containing hydrocarbon mixture with a chain length of predominantly C4 to C12, said mixture not containing oxygen-containing hydrocarbon compounds, via intermediate steps, a syngas production, a methanol synthesis, and a production of a dimethyl ether/methanol/water mixture. The hydrocarbon mixture is added to the heavy crude oil after a degassing process, and a light crude oil obtained from the heavy crude oil is transported to a refinery via lines. During the subsequent refining process of the light crude oil into conventional gasoline, the hydrocarbons contained in the water-containing hydrocarbon mixture become a part of the produced gasoline quantity.
