PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a floating breakwater for making the construction of the breakwater easier as well as to reduce the cost of construction by making up the floating breakwater from arm materials to forcibly restrict the freedom of the breakwater body by the foundation set on the seabed and the breakwater body supported by the arm materials. CONSTITUTION:A breakwater 1 is made up of a breakwater body 2, arms 3, and a foundation 4 to support the lower ends of the arms 3. In the arms 3, three V-shaped links are formed from the side view, and a parallelogramic link mechanism made up of the breakwater body 2, the arms 3, and the foundation 4 is formed from the planar view. When tidal wave comes from the direction of arrow W, the breakwater body 2 vertically moves in parallel between (a) and (b) along the tidal wave but is not flowed sideways. When a plate 6 is perforated or netted one, its wave-breaking action becomes more effective because the energy of tidal wave is damped during the passing period. Thereby, the breakwater body 2 is vertically moved as the water surface moves vertically and its sufficient wave-breaking function can be exhibited. |
