<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing, in a high yielding amount and a high yielding rate, 4-keto-D-arabonate which becomes a starting ingredient of manufacturing D-tartaric acid out of at least one of sugars selected from a group consisting of glucose, gluconic acid, 2-ketogluconic acid, 2,5-diketogluconic acid, and a mixture thereof, and to provide a highly practical method which can be used for industrial manufacture. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing 4-keto-D-arabonate and salt thereof, at least one of bacteria selected from the group consisting of Gluconobacter, Frateuria, and Tatumella or a resting microorganism thereof is cultured or reacted with solution containing at least one of sugars selected from glucose, gluconic acid, 2-ketogluconic acid, 2,5-diketogluconic acid, and the mixture thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
