The present invention relates to at least one method for manufacturing at least one kind of fatty acid and/or a derivative thereof from gas including H_2, CO_2 and O_2 in order to effectively manufacture fatty acid from a renewable energy source. The method comprises the following steps: (a) supplying genetically modified hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria into an aqueous medium; and (b) allowing the aqueous medium to touch gas including H_2, CO_2 and O_2 in the weight ratio of 20-70:10-45:5-35. The fatty acid includes at least five carbon atoms, and the hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria is genetically modified in order to increase the expression of an enzyme E1 which can promote the conversion of acetyl CoA into acyl ACP by malonyl CoA, and increase the expression of an enzyme E2 which can promote the conversion of acyl ACP into fatty acid, in comparison with wild-type bacteria. |
