PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive apparatus that prevents opening/closing failure of a relay caused by switching from contact transition to contact locking without adding or changing a system configuration and hardware and improves durability life of the relay.SOLUTION: When a motor is caused to start based on a control command, the motor is driven in a normal rotation direction or in a reverse rotation direction to be switched to a drive state, by bringing one of two relays into an on state and bringing another into an off state. When the motor is caused to stop, the motor is switched from a drive state to a drive stop state by bringing the relay from the on state into the off state, meanwhile the motor is switched from a drive state to the before-stopping-drive state by bringing the relay from the off state into the on state when a predetermined before-stopping-drive-state-transition timing is established. |
