A projector 1 is provided with: an image processing unit 10 that image-processes inputted image signals; an image display element 22, to which the image signals image-processed by means of the image processing unit are inputted, and which generates an optical image; and a projection optical system 23 that projects, to a projection surface, the optical image generated by means of the image display element. The image processing unit 10 has an image correction unit 12 for reducing blurring of an image to be projected by means of the projection optical system 23, and the image correction unit 12 changes the black luminance level of the image signals. |
