PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load support member for a chair, which facilitates fitting of a surface material to a frame member, and a chair having the same.SOLUTION: A load support member for a chair is provided in a chair and comprises a frame member having a pair of rod materials 9, and a surface material 11 supported on the frame member. A support part 16 having a fitting recess 19 opening to a front face side of the chair is provided respectively in the pair of rod materials 9 on inner surfaces facing each other. The surface material 11 has side part support frames 11b, and is supported on the support parts 16 by fitting the side part support frames 11b into the fitting recesses 19 of the support parts 16. In the support part 16, a transition surface 22 inclined so as to narrow the opening of the fitting recess 19 toward a back face side of the chair is formed at a portion from a front face side of the chair to the inside of the fitting recess 19 in an outer peripheral part of the opening of the fitting recess 19.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
