PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain fatty acid titanium with low viscosity and high titanium content by reacting fatty acid and titanium tetra-alkoxide under a specific condition.SOLUTION: The fatty acid titanium is produced by reacting, under heating, a mono-valent fatty acid of 4 to 10 carbon atoms, and a titanium tetra-alkoxide composed of an alkoxide of 1 to 6 carbon atoms. In this case, the input amount of fatty acid per 1 mole of titanium tetra-alkoxide is 2.0 to 3.5 moles, the reaction temperature is 85 to 110°C, and the reaction is carried out while removing the alcohol distilled from the reaction system, in a total amount of 0.20 mole/mole or more with respect to the alkoxide contained in titanium tetra-alkoxide.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
