1. An image reading apparatus comprising:
a reader configured to read an image of a document by using a plurality of light receiving elements arranged in a first scanning direction; a moving mechanism configured to move the reader in a second scanning direction to move a reading position at which the reader reads the document; an adjusting mechanism configured to move the reader in the first scanning direction to adjust a position of the reader in the first scanning direction; a second container that contains the reader; and a support member that supports the screw and that is located at a position fixed relative to the second container, wherein the screw is configured to move relative to the support member so that the reader is moved relative to the second container in the first scanning direction wherein the adjusting mechanism includes a screw that is configured to move in the first scanning direction to adjust the position of the reader.
