The invention relates to a screw filter press and to a method for operating a screw filter press, comprising a screw shaft (2) which has at least one coil (10) and two screw shaft ends (2u, 2o). The shaft axis (A) of the screw shaft is oriented parallel to the gravity vector, and the screw shaft is mounted on one side via the upper screw shaft end (2o) and is connected to a rotary drive (3) which rotates the screw shaft about the shaft axis (A) in a specifiable rotational direction (D). At least the lower sub-region of the screw shaft is coaxially surrounded in a filter region by a straight cylindrical filter tube (4) that is provided with openings and is radially adjoined by a filtrate chamber (5) in which a vacuum is provided. The invention is characterized in that the at least one coil (10) which runs about the shaft axis (A) in a helical manner along the screw shaft (2) opens radially outwards in a coil edge (11) which is designed in the form of a preferably contact-free scraping strip with a scraping strip width (12) oriented perpendicularly to the shaft axis (A); the scraping strip width (12) is delimited by a front (13) and a rear (14) scraping strip region when seen in the rotational direction (D); and the rear scraping strip region (14) has a smaller radial distance to the shaft axis (A) than the front scraping strip region (13). |
