PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass plate which when an iron content is at the same level as a conventional soda lime silica glass plate, can have a solar transmittance higher than that of a conventional glass plate, or when the iron content is larger than the conventional glass plate, can have a solar transmittance at the same level as that of the conventional glass plate and which has good productivity, and to provided a process for production of the glass plate.SOLUTION: There is provided a soda lime silica glass plate which is produced by a float process or a downdraw method and contains at least MgO, CaO, NaO and AlO, wherein [MgO] is 4.5% or more, [MgO]/[CaO] is more than 1, Q=([MgO]/[CaO])×([CaO]+[NaO]-[AlO]) is 20 or more, wherein [MgO] is the content of MgO, [CaO] is the content of CaO, [NaO] is the content of NaO, [AlO] is the content of AlO(each being represented by mass percentage based on oxide).SELECTED DRAWING: None |
