PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin tape that can reduce the occurrence of a defective part therein without making a cooling roll extremely approach a nozzle.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin tape sets a distance L between a tip of a nozzle 18 and a position where a cooling roller 20 and a thermoplastic resin tape 9 are brought into contact with each other, according to following equations (A, B) based on the dimension T of a short side of an opening of the nozzle 18 tip, in an apparatus for manufacturing the thermoplastic resin tape 9 through the cooling roller 20 arranged on the downstream side of the nozzle 18 having a rectangular opening installed after a step of impregnating a fiber bundle 8 with a molten thermoplastic resin.
