Disclosed in an embodiment of the present invention are a buffer status report (BSR) reporting method and device in a random access process. The method comprises: when a first user equipment (UE) has device-to-device (D2D) data to be transmitted, the first UE triggers a D2D BSR and receives an uplink cell resource transmitted by a base station; the first UE determines whether a cell BSR has been triggered, and if so, determines according to the type of the triggered cell BSR whether an Msg3 in the random access process carries the D2D BSR; the first UE reporting the determined Msg3 in the random access process to the base station via the uplink cell resource; the first UE receiving a scheduling signaling transmitted by the base station, and determining according to the signaling whether the random access process is successful. The BSR reporting method and device in the random access process provided in the embodiment of the present invention reduces the complexity of contention resolution of the random access process. |
