PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scale factor recalibration method and system for correction for drift-related errors grown over time in an interferometric fiberoptic gyro (IFOG).SOLUTION: A method comprises supplying optical inputs from a fiberoptic light source 120 to an interferometric fiberoptic gyro (IFOG) 110 first at a first optical frequency and then a different second optical frequency; detecting a difference in responses of the IFOG 110 to the optical inputs at the first and second optical frequencies; and computing a gyro rate as a function of the difference and a correction term.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
