A non-metallic vertical turbine pump (20) and a method of manufacturing same are provided. In accordance with one embodiment, the vertical turbine pump (20) can include a motor (22), and a drive shaft (28) coupled to the motor (22) for rotation, a casing (38) with a mixed flow diffuser (50) including a diffuser hub (52) and diffuser vanes (56) that project out from the diffuser hub, and a mixed flow impeller (30) configured to rotatably fit inside the casing (38), having an impeller hub (46), impeller vanes (48), extending from the hub, and a front (47) and a back shroud (49) connected to opposing ends of the impeller vanes. At least one of the mixed flow impeller (30) and the mixed flow diffuser (50) can be made of a non- metallic material and is a singular homogenous component. |
