PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high strength spring steel excellent in decarbonization resistance as well as toughness and wire drawing property by optimizing added amount of Sb and Sn in addition to C, Si, Mn and Cr to conventional high strength spring steel.SOLUTION: A spring steel contains C:over 0.50 mass% and 0.60 mass% or less, Si:1.15 mass% to 1.65 mass%, Mn:0.55 mass% to 1.0 mass%, Cr:0.55 mass% to 1.50 mass%, P:0.025 mass% or less, S:0.025 mass% or less, O:0.0015 mass% or less, Sb:0.015 mass% to 0.050 mass%, Sn:0.005 mass% to 0.050 mass% under a predetermined condition.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
