PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device with an operation specification that is more user-friendly for users, and is more easier to get a sense of intimacy.SOLUTION: A stand-by screen P is displayed on a touch panel display unit 11 that has icons (animal imaging images Be/Li/Ko/Ra/El/Sh/Ow) for instructing an execution of each of a plurality of kinds of functions (educational contents) synthesized with a background image, and a current date/time is read from a clock part. On the basis of a priority function corresponding to a weekday acquired from priority data, a history of an execution date/time of each function read from history data, and a user progression status of each function read from content progression data, a recommendable function is determined that will be independently performed by a present user without having aversion. Then, an image picture as the icon of the recommendable function is enlarged so as to be conspicuous, and is displayed on the stand-by screen P with the image picture synthesized therewith.
