The invention relates to a sealing/guiding unit (1) for guiding and sealing a piston rod of a vibration damper of a motor vehicle. The sealing/guiding unit comprises a first guiding element (2), a second guiding element (3), which is firmly connected to the first guiding element (2) and which is arranged coaxially to the first guiding element (2) in relation to a center axis (A) of the sealing/guiding unit, and a radially movable piston-rod sealing assembly (4). The piston-rod sealing assembly is arranged between the two guiding elements (2; 3) and coaxially to the two guiding elements (2; 3), is surrounded by at least one guiding element (2; 3) at least indirectly in such a way that a defined radial annular gap (19) is enclosed in the circumferential direction, and comes to rest axially against at least one guiding element (2; 3) at least indirectly. The invention is characterized in that the piston-rod sealing assembly (4) consists of a piston-rod seal (5) and a sliding element (6), which surrounds the piston-rod seal (5) in the circumferential direction and axially bounds the piston-rod seal (5) on at least one side, wherein, at least in some sections, the sliding element (6) has a lower coefficient of friction than the individual parts of the sealing/guiding unit (1) that are directly axially adjacent to the piston-rod sealing assembly (4).
