The device (1) has connectors (13a, 13b) contactable with an associated complementary connector of a connecting cable of a solar panel connection box. Test contacts are electrically connected with the connectors. A fixing device (3) or fixing elements (5a, 5b) releasably fix the device at a housing of the solar panel connection box. The fixing device is spatially displaced with handling elements (23a, 23b). The connectors are designed as plug-like or socket-like connectors, where the connectors comprise locking elements (15). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a terminal assembly (2) a method for automatically testing a solar panel.
