PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system that effectively purifies exhaust gas emitted from a fuel cell module.SOLUTION: The fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell module 2; an exhaust gas passage 12 that circulates exhaust gas emitted from the fuel cell module 2; a purification catalyst 20 that is provided downstream of the exhaust gas passage and purifies the exhaust gas emitted from the fuel cell module; a purification catalyst case 21 that stores the purification catalyst 20; and a heater 22. A heat-generating section 22a of the heater 22 is arranged upstream of the purification catalyst 20 in a direction in which the exhaust gas introduced into the purification catalyst case 21 passes, and at such a position as not to have contact with the purification catalyst 20. The exhaust gas heated by the heat-generating section 22a of the heater 22 raises the temperature of the purification catalyst 20. Thus, the purification catalyst 20 is prevented from being affected by temperature non-uniformity in the purification catalyst case 21. |
