摘要 The invention relates to a diesel engine and a method for increasing power of a diesel engine. The diesel engine comprises at least one turbocharger stage, at least one exhaust gas aftertreatment system, and a compensation device not driven by the turbocharger stage, wherein the at least one exhaust gas aftertreatment system has a certain number of units for guiding exhaust gas, and the compensation device is at least one auxiliary air blower which is driven independent of the turbocharger stage. According to the invention, the auxiliary air blower is at the downstream of the turbocharger stage, is arranged at a pipeline section at a high pressure side of scavenging gas from the turbocharger stage to a plurality of combustion chambers, and is designed for continuously running in the whole load range of the diesel engine and assisting the turbocharger stages when the combustion chambers are subjected to pressurization, thereby assisting the turbocharger stages to compensate the reduction in the pressure difference used for the turbocharger stages at the high pressure side of the scavenging gas of the turbocharger stages with the exhaust gas aftertreatment when the combustion chambers are subjected to the pressurization.
