<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and management unit for operating a coke oven, which can prevent extrusion clogging of coke from occurring. <P>SOLUTION: A method for operating a coke oven that has a plurality of carbonization chambers and firing chambers alternately arranged in parallel includes: a first step of obtaining information on thickness of a carbonaceous material adhering to an oven wall in the range of equal to or lower than the height of coke in the carbonization chamber; and a second step of controlling an operation condition of the coke oven if the thickness of the carbonaceous material is a predetermined value or larger, so that the time variation in a temperature of the firing chamber adjacent to the carbonization chamber becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
