Provided is a light emitting element having an electrode with high reflectivity, and also having a high light emitting efficiency and a low operating voltage. In a light emitting element having a first electrode, a second electrode and an EL layer provided between the first and second electrodes, the first electrode has: a conductive layer; a first transparent conductive layer contacting the conductive layer; and a second transparent conductive layer contacting the first conductive layer. The first transparent conductive layer has a first oxide, the second transparent conductive layer has a second oxide, and the conductive layer has a light reflection function. The first oxide has In and M, wherein M represents Al, Si, Ti, Ga, Y, Zr, La, Ce, Nd or Hf, and the second oxide has In. The resistivity of the second transparent conductive layer is less than that of the first transparent conductive layer, and the thickness of the second transparent conductive layer is equal to or greater than that of the first transparent conductive layer. |
