Method for obtaining transparent ceramics of Er:YAG for being used in solid state lasers, which comprises the preparation of a pressed test tube resulting from Er:YAG powders, which provides an initial shape to the active medium, the sintering process provides the aforementioned shape by pressure and temperature, which allows the test tube to be shaped and the zone displacement of the pressed shape to be performed through a furnace, which enables a transparent ceramic to be obtained with an optimum quality suitable to be used as a laser active medium.
