摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy cast article having fine crystal grains and suppressed formation of compounds from reacting with impurities contained in a molten metal with Mg or a Mg alloy dissolved therein and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: There is provided a magnesium alloy cast article containing 1.5 to 4.0 mass% of Mn (manganese) and the balance consisting of Mg (magnesium), Fe (iron), Ni (nickel), C (carbon) or the like. This makes crystal grain fine and suppresses formation of a compound with impurities contained in a molten metal. There is also provided a magnesium alloy cast article containing 1.0 to 2.5 mass% of Mn and 10 mass% of Gd (gadolinium) and the balance Mg with inevitable impurities. By 10 mass% of Gd is contained in the magnesium alloy cast article, an intermetallic compound of Mg and Gd in a crystal grain boundary or the like deposits, so that heat resistance such as high temperature strength and creep strength are enhanced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
