PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill transport system and a bill transport method that can prevent a bill distance between the bill newly taken by a bill taking unit and the bill already transported by a transport path from becoming smaller than a predetermined value, and thereby can prevent the occurrence of troubles such as clogging of the bill in the transport path.SOLUTION: When a distance between a bill passage sensor 530a and a bill taking unit (e.g., a first taking unit 300a and a second taking unit 400a) is smaller than a predetermined value in a certain group (e.g., group a), a bill detection information output position (e.g., a pulse output position) is set in the other group positioned in the upstream side of this group, and a determination is made whether or not to temporarily inhibit the taking of the bill by the bill taking unit when the bill is detected in the bill detection information output position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
