PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which the precipitation of a substance originating from charge carriers on a surface of a negative electrode active material layer is suppressed.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode 50 having a positive electrode active material layer 54; and a negative electrode 60 having a negative electrode active material layer 64. The negative electrode active material layer 64 includes a negative electrode active material consisting of a composite carbon material with graphite coated with amorphous carbon. The negative electrode active material layer has: an opposing part 22 opposed to the positive electrode active material layer 54; and a non-opposing part 24 which is not opposed to the positive electrode active material layer 54. The percentage A (mass%) of the quantity of the coated amorphous carbon in the negative electrode active material of the opposing part to 100 mass% representing the total mass of the negative electrode active material present in the opposing part 22 is smaller than the percentage B (mass%) of the quantity of the coated amorphous carbon in the negative electrode active material of the non-opposing part to 100 mass% representing the total mass of the negative electrode active material present in non-opposing portion 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
