PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melted fuel removal device capable of securing criticality safety and reducing a work process when melted fuel in a reactor is taken out.SOLUTION: With a melted fuel removable device, melted fuel 2 that is melted and solidified in a nuclear reactor is taken out. The device includes: a metal inner tube 5 and a metal outer tube 6 that are installed in the vicinity of the melted fuel 2 and includes a neutron absorber and are coaxially provided at an inner peripheral side and an outer peripheral side at an interval, respectively; a melted fuel crush device 7 that is disposed inside of the inner tube 5 and crushes the melted fuel 2; and a suction pump 9 that suctions a melted fuel piece 8 crushed by the melted fuel crush device 7 from between the outer periphery of the inner tube 5 and the inner periphery of the outer tube 6. Preferably, a distance between the inner tube 5 and the outer tube 6 is set at a size that keeps the melted fuel piece 8 at a subcritical state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
