PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule excellent in optical characteristics by solving a problem in manufacturing a lens integrated type ferrule.SOLUTION: A ferrule 100 having a lens 10 integrally molded at a tip, which is used by being attached to a tip part of an optical fiber core wire coating an optical fiber including a core and a clad comprises a first insertion hole 20 provided in a lens 10 direction from a tail end part of the ferrule 100, for binding the optical fiber from the outer periphery of a coated part of the optical fiber core wire by inserting the coated part thereto, a second insertion hole 30 provided in the lens 10 direction from a bottom of the first insertion hole 20, for binding the optical fiber from the outer periphery by inserting the optical fiber at a potion where coating is removed at the tip of the optical fiber core wire thereto, a lateral hole 40 connected to a bottom of the second insertion hole 30 and provided transversely with respect to the second insertion hole 30 from a side face of the ferrule 100, and an index matching material provided in the lateral hole 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
