PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding unit of an automatic winder capable of properly orienting or positioning a spinning cop by inexpensive and simple delivery means.SOLUTION: A winding unit 2 of the automatic winder including an orientation device 35 for orienting a spinning cop 9 set at a delivery position 10 is characterized in that the orientation device 35 has a tongue-shaped centering contour member 37, and the centering contour member 37 can approach the spinning cop 9 so as to come into contact with the peripheral surface of the spinning cop 9 below a cop circular cone and center and position the spinning cop 9 for a delivery operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
